Plan your first app.

A useful app begins before the first screen is designed. A clear brief helps everyone make better decisions about what to build, what to leave out, and how to recognize progress.

Name the problem, not the feature list.

“We need an app” is a starting point, not a brief. Describe what someone is trying to do today and where the current process breaks down. Are they chasing appointments over messages? Repeating the same data entry? Struggling to understand an order’s status? A concrete problem gives your project a purpose that everyone can return to when priorities compete.

Know who will use it.

Write down the main user and the situation they are in. An office administrator using a large screen has a different day from a customer booking on a phone. Describe the most important journey in plain language: what starts it, what information is needed, and what a successful finish looks like.

Choose a first release you can test.

Divide the idea into essential work and work that can wait. The first release should complete a meaningful journey, not contain a little of everything. For a booking product, a customer choosing a time and receiving confirmation may matter more than advanced reporting. Explain the trade-offs before development starts so the plan is shared.

Bring the real material.

Useful preparation includes sample content, existing branding, workflow notes, and any systems the product must connect to. You don’t need perfect wireframes. You do need to identify who can answer product questions and who will review progress. List unknowns openly rather than quietly turning them into assumptions.

Agree on what happens next.

Before committing to a build, discuss scope, review points, responsibilities, and what will happen after launch. The result should be a plan the whole team can explain. If you are preparing that first brief, tell Leyora what problem you want to solve and who you want to solve it for.
